It was never easy to keep this going, being in a band abroad, but my brotherhood with Kostas and the love for the music kept me continue for way longer than feasible.
Now more and more health issues, work and schedule conflicts force me to cut a lot of activities and beloved things.

It was a pleasure playing and recording with Battleroar. And I want to thank Kostas, Michael, Sverd, Greg and George for the great time, the fantastic records and the wonderful gigs!

I wish you all my metal best for the future of the band! Keep the epic metal raging, brothers!"

The biggest change since the founding of Northern Silence in 2003 is taking shape behind the scenes. It is quite noteworthy, especially for myself, so I wanted to elaborate a bit on it beforehand and don't turn it into a surprise.

If all goes as planned, the Northern Silence mailorder will be handled by another company - 8merch from Poland - as of June 1st.

The reasons for it are manifold but let's just say that running Northern Silence as a one-man operation the way it was done since its inception has become absolutely impossible.

I've always been of the opinion that it is best to do something yourself if you want it done properly. However, during the last few months I was given the chance to realize that at a certain point you can't do everything yourself anymore when you're not able to work 24/7, which I'm not. That's also why Northern Silence has never grown beyond medium size, by underground standards.

Apart from the erroneous notion that it's always best to do everything yourself, which of course is total nonsense, I'm far from the best at everything I do. Many people have specialized knowledge as well as the appropriate software and are able to do things better, faster and more efficiently than I ever could.

So the Northern Silence webstore that you're familiar with will close its virtual doors on May 31st, and on June 1st a new webstore will open that is run BY 8merch FOR Northern Silence.

Since it is not possible to transfer the entire stock in such a short time (neither physical nor virtual) the new shop will at first only offer the more significant NSP releases and then step by step we'll add the most noteworthy of the other mailorder items. What happens with the rest will be determined later. Maybe it will be sold in packages for disproportionately low prices.

In terms of content, very little will change for most customers, since Northern Silence releases make up about 70% of the turnover anyway, and once all significant third-party releases have been added we'll be back to around 90% of what most people currently consider order-worthy from the NSP shop, but without all the dead stock congesting the lists.

Shipping rates will be adjusted and may in fact be a bit lower than they're now (except for German customers - that can't be helped). Shipping may happen faster too, since 8merch usually ship orders the same day or the next.

Other than that, the entire shopping experience will be brought from the stone age into the 21st century, where shipping costs are calculated automatically and you pay right away, without having to wait for an email with shipping costs and payment details.

So all things considered, everything should become easier and much more enjoyable for all concerned, certainly for me because I'll have a private life again

Last but not least, I'll be able to have a reasonable number of new releases out each year without fearing that if they become too successful I won't be able to handle the workload anymore. Sounds crazy but that's how it is if you run a label with a do-it-yourself mentality. Let's just say I would not have been able to handle the initial workload for a new Caladan Brood album on my own, but now the situation changes so who knows what the future will bring.

In conclusion I would like to encourage you to order from the old NSP shop throughout May if you're in love with any of the more obscure titles in the lists because these will certainly not find their way into the new store. Besides Northern Silence titles the primary focus will be on the releases of the main partners - Nordvis, Avantgarde, Osmose, Wolfspell, Sepulchral, Northern Heritage and maybe a handful others.

For the last few years I've tried to find suitable band members that are both talented and passionate. I cannot find a singer. I cannot find a drummer. I have tried everything can no longer come up with any new ideas how to keep the ship above surface.

I also don't any longer enjoy the whole concept of Blazon Stone:
The whole idea from the start was just to record a "RW style" album for fun. As the song writing quality stepped up a lot with "War Of The Roses" and "Down In The Dark" (compared to the first 2) I felt like this can actually become something and I got ambitious... And then entered the nightmares of trying to actually have a fuctioning line-up. But the concept is the thing I like the least: There's nothing original about this project I can be proud of. It's just blatant copy of an existing band. There's individual songs I've written that I'm proud of, but that's not enough.

Of course I'm thankful for various temporary live stand-ins like vocalist Philip Forsell, both drummers Daniel Sjögren and Kalle Löfgren, as well as bass players Jimmy Mattsson and Kevin Crona, and let's not forget 2nd guitarist Emil!

But I can't go on like this anymore.

There's obviously no interest among any great musicans to join Blazon Stone for a real line-up. And I cannot afford to hire professinal musicians for live use either, because there's really not a lot of money involved when a band is at this size. Bands like Sabaton or Hammerfall may be able to hire anybody they want to because they have big labels backing if needed. I don't have anything to save this sinking ship anymore.

Of course I'm thankful for all fans who has bought the albums, but I still cannot simply summon any talented musicians out of nowhere.

Now it's over.
I have given up on Blazon Stone.
There's nothing more I can do.
I have tried as much as I can.

Schweren Herzens sind wir heute dazu gezwungen, dieses Statement zu veröffentlichen:
Jeder, der Stormwitch kennt und über viele Jahre begleitet hat, weiß, dass es in dieser Band schon immer etwas schwierig war. Unzählige Mitgliederwechsel, Intrigen und und und…
Und trotzdem seid IHR, liebe Fans, uns treu geblieben. Und dafür möchten wir euch heute von Herzen danken!
Nachdem wir im letzten Jahr unsere CD ‚Bound To The Witch‘ veröffentlicht haben, hatten wir alle gehofft, wir könnten nun endlich nach vorne schauen und die nächste CD – für die wir wirklich tolle Ideen hatten, anfangen zu produzieren. Die Stimmung innerhalb der Band war noch nie so gut, über die letzten Jahre haben sich Freundschaften innerhalb der Band gebildet. Auch Andy war mit Feuereifer dabei, doch leider mussten wir feststellen, dass diese Freundschaften einer Person ein Dorn im Auge waren. Diese eine Person hat alles daran gesetzt, die Atmosphäre innerhalb der Band zu vergiften. Warum? Das fragen wir uns bis heute. Sehr wahrscheinlich, weil diese Person nicht damit zurechtkommt, nicht mehr die erste Geige zu spielen. Sehr wahrscheinlich, weil sie gemerkt hat, dass der Zusammenhalt innerhalb der Band so gut wie noch nie war.
Also fing genau diese Person an, Lügen zu erfinden (z.B. Betrügereien um Geld), versuchte, uns gegeneinander auszuspielen, und, als dies nicht klappte, ihren einzigen Trumpf auszuspielen: Andy Lügen über uns zu erzählen. Wenn man in einer Band spielt, in der man nie die Möglichkeit hat, mit dem Sänger persönlich Kontakt aufzunehmen, um Dinge zu klären hat, man keine Chance.
Es hätte so gut für Stormwitch laufen können. Die CD schlug ein, wir hatten Bock Gigs zu spielen, freuten uns darauf, endlich wieder mit den Fans zu feiern und dann… wurden Konzerte einfach ohne Absprache mit uns unter fadenscheinigen Ausreden abgesagt. Wir hätten die gigantische Möglichkeit gehabt, in Russland, Brasilien, Ungarn, Belgien, Polen, Griechenland u.v.m. zu spielen. Unser Booker, Andreas Löffelad, dem wir hier von Herzen für sein Engagement danken möchten, hat uns einen Gig nach dem anderen angeboten. Die nicht namentlich genannte Person hat alles eigenmächtig abgesagt, ohne mit uns darüber zu sprechen und wir sind uns sicher, Andy hat nur einen Bruchteil davon erfahren – und wenn – dann wurde ihm sicherlich nur die Hälfte oder die Unwahrheit gesagt.
Die nicht namentlich genannte Person hat ihrerseits unsere Plattenfirma Massacre, sowie unseren engagierten Booker Andreas Löffelad niedergemacht und als unfähig bezeichnet.
Wir – Wanschi, Marc, Volker und Tobi, die all unser Können und unsere Liebe in Stormwitchs Zukunft eingebracht haben, mussten schmerzlich erfahren, dass hinter unserem Rücken – auf Betreiben von Andy und seiner Lebensgefährtin – neue Bandmitglieder rekrutiert wurden. Wir hatten uns auf Live-Auftritte, wie z.B. in München gefreut, doch diese werden wir nie spielen. An dieser Vorgehensweise kann man erkennen, wie diese beiden Personen mit Menschen– wie z.B. Wanschi, der seit dem Jahr 2005 wieder an Andys Seite war, umgehen.
Bis zum heutigen Tag hat man uns darüber im Unklaren gelassen, wie es mit Stormwitch weitergehen wird. Dieses Statement wird in diesem Moment veröffentlicht, da nun klar ist, wie menschenunwürdig mit Bandmitgliedern verfahren wird. Unseren Nachfolgern können wir nur Glück wünschen, auch wenn wir wissen, dass es ihnen nicht anders ergehen wird, wie uns.

Mitbegründer dieser Band und damit auch ein Teil von mir. Seit 2005, als man mich wieder in die Band geholt hatte, hatte ich mich mit allem was ich hatte für den Erhalt der Band eingesetzt. Es kamen und gingen viele Musiker. Mit der aktuellen Besetzung seit ein paar Jahren ist eine wahre Freundschaft entstanden. Auch das zusammen erarbeitete Album "Bound to the witch" hat die Band nochmals gepuscht und es gab durchweg nur Positive Feedbacks. Wir wollten nochmal durchstarten. Auch unser Booker Andy Löffelad hat sich ins Zeug gelegt, mit dem ich wahrlich auch viele Diskussionen über die gewisse Person hatte. Angebote aus Sao Paulo, Athen, Moskau, Belgien, usw. kamen rein. All dieses wurde von einer gewissen Person abgeblockt. Andy gäbe es nur im Doppelpack. Da die gewisse Person aber anscheinend Flugangst hat oder sonstiges gegen das fliegen hat, darf natürlich der Andy alleine nicht mit gehen. Solche und viele Andere Spielchen wurden die ganze Zeit gespielt. Wir haben trotzdem bis zur letzten Sekunde noch die Hoffnung dass sich daran etwas ändert. Aber wir wurden eines besseren belehrt. Auch waren wir die letzten Wochen nicht blind und Ahnungslos und haben uns auf diesen Tag vorbereitet, wie mann ja am schnellen Statement der Band sieht. Wir hatten uns tierisch auf das Konzert in Trveheim bei München gefreut. Es sollte wie angekündigt auch ein Anniversary 35 Jahre Walpurigis Night werden. Haben dafür extra alte Songs ins Programm genommen. Auch wurde versucht von vorne herein abzublocken. Wir werden als Band auf jeden Fall weitermachen. Wir werden uns nicht unterkriegen lassen. Ich könnte mich hier über soviel auslassen, dazu ist mir meine Zeit momentan aber zu Schade. Vielleicht kommt nach und nach noch was. Euer Wanschi"

wir hatten uns sehr darauf gefreut in München zu spielen. Leider ist es uns, Wanschi, Marc, Tobi und Volker aus bekannten Gründen nicht möglich dort zu spielen. Getreu dem Motto "Walpurgis Night" hatten wir eine ganz besondere Setliste vorbereitet.
Wir wünschen allen Metalfreunden trotzdem ein tolles Festival. Wir Vier wären sehr gerne dabei gewesen.

British heavy metal legends SAXON have been forced to postpone all their previously announced 2019 shows as frontman Biff Byford needs undergo a medical procedure.

Byford has been diagnosed with a heart condition that requires immediate surgery and his post-op recovery period will last into 2020.

Biff says: "As everyone knows now, we are going to have to reschedule some of the shows because I need an operation on my heart which should be happening next week. There is nothing more I can say, really. I am just sorry for causing all the disappointment to people's plans for coming to see us. I know people are flying from all over the world to see the shows, but there is nothing I can do, so please wish me luck and send me some good vibes. We have to look positive on this and I will be coming back as strong as before, hopefully."
