Metallica-Frontman James Hetfield in Entzugsklinik

SAXON frontman Biff Byford is recovering after undergoing an emergency triple bypass surgery on Monday, September 23.
A heart bypass surgery, or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, is used to improve blood flow to the heart. A surgeon uses blood vessels taken from another area of the body to bypass the damaged arteries.
The term triple bypass refers to the number of coronary arteries bypassed in the procedure. In other words, a triple bypass means three coronary arteries are bypassed.
Earlier today (September 28), Biff took to social media to offer an update on his health status. He shared a photo of his breakfast, along with the following message: "Hi a cup of tea and jam and roast. T minus 5 days since operation. I'd like to thank all of you who sent love and well wishes and tons of positive vibes to me. I had an emergency triple bi pass operation on Monday morning. I'll be feeling tired for a while. A lot of pain management at the moment but I'm up and about for a bit everyday now. It's more shuffling than walking but hey never surrender and all that. I'd like to thank the tremendous team at york training hospital and Hul..."
SAXON was forced to postpone all its previously announced 2019 shows so that Byford could undergo the procedure. His post-op recovery period will last into 2020.
Formed in 1977, SAXON didn't release its debut album until two years later.
Byford and guitarist Paul Quinn are the sole remaining original members in the group's current lineup, which issued its 22nd LP, "Thunderbolt", in February 2018.
Originally from South Yorkshire, England, SAXON has gone on to sell about 23 million albums and has produced such classic songs as "Denim And Leather", "Princess Of The Night", "Wheels Of Steel" and "Power And Glory".
In addition to Byford and Quinn, SAXON's current lineup includes bassist Nibbs Carter, guitarist Doug Scarratt and drummer Nigel Glockler.

PRETTY MAIDS Singer RONNIE ATKINS Diagnosed With Lung Cancer
The Danish musician broke the news of his diagnosis earlier today via the band's Facebook page.
He wrote in an open letter to the PRETTY MAIDS fans: "It's scary how your world can be turned upside down in a couple of weeks.
"I went to my doctor for a routine check complaining about some back pains in mid-August. I then went through numerous scans, bronchoscopy, biopsies etc. and spent a lot of time waiting for answers in uncertainty. And so finally three weeks ago I found myself diagnosed with lung cancer.
"Now this has by all means been a shock to me, my family and those close to me since it came totally unexpected without any typical symptoms and everything just happened and developed so fast lately.
"I'm already in treatment and underwent surgery two weeks ago, then spend some 10 days in hospital with pneumonia as a consequence apparently linked to the surgery.
"According to the medical staff my prospects are good considering it's lung cancer. However, I will have to undertake further treatment the next couple of months to be on the safe side. This means that I unfortunately will have to step back from most musical activities concerts etc. for an indefinite period of time.
"I'm going into this with a positive mindset and with the continuing love and support from my family and friends I'm determined to battle this disease the best I can -God willing!"
According to PRETTY MAIDS, all of the band's previously announced shows have been canceled and all of the group's "plans are on hold." The band says: "ALL focus is now on Ronnie's health and undergoing treatment."

QUIET RIOT Drummer FRANKIE BANALI Diagnosed With Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer
The drummer revealed in a social media post that he has been battling the disease since this past spring, saying that he is "feeling much better and stronger now" and vowing to play with QUIET RIOT later this month and through 2020.
"I just want to let all of my friends and fans know what's going on with me and why I have unfortunately missed some appearances this year," Banali said in a statement posted on podcaster Mitch Lafon's Facebook page. "I just want to let all of my friends and fans know what's going on with me and why I have unfortunately missed some appearances this year. Since April 17th, I have been battling stage four pancreatic cancer.
"The original prognosis was very scary. I had quite a battle on my hands and it took a lot, but I am thankful to say that after several rounds of chemo and other treatments, I am on the mend. The road ahead is not going to be easy but cancer has met its match and I plan to continue fighting.
"I wish I could have been with you all at every QUIET RIOT performance as this is the first time in 38 years I have ever missed a gig," he continued.
"Please know that if I had been able to fly on a plane and play a show nothing else would have stopped me. I am feeling much better and stronger now.
"I intend to play the QUIET RIOT concert at the Whisky A Go Go on Saturday October 26th and to continue touring in 2020 with QUIET RIOT, so I hope to see you there. I appreciate all the fans that support QUIET RIOT by coming to shows and I hope you will all continue that support as well as keeping me in your thoughts and prayers."
QUIET RIOT played several shows this year without Banali, marking the first time ever that the band performed without any of the members from its classic lineup: Banali, singer Kevin DuBrow, guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Rudy Sarzo.
At some of QUIET RIOT's recent shows, Banali was replaced by Johnny Kelly (DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE).
Banali resurrected QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after the death of founding member and singer Kevin DuBrow.
QUIET RIOT initially featured the late guitar legend Randy Rhoads and went through some early lineup shifts before securing the musicians that recorded the band's multi-platinum-selling 1983 album "Metal Health".

White Wizzard Reunite, Unveil New Lineup
White Wizzard was put to rest by founder and bassist Jon Leon last year. The band released four full length albums that worship old school traditional metal, but never-ending lineup changes plagued the band, among other issues. Now, they've reunited, recruiting former members from across different points of the band's career and are working on a new record.
"In the history of White Wizzard, it has always been an evolving entity. There has been one singer that has sang twice as many shows than any singer in the band, and to probably 10x the amount of people," begins a statement from the group.
"There were many tours where Wyatt Anderson backed out last minute due to personal reasons and this singer flew in and saved the day with two weeks to go and we never missed a beat. He's never gotten to record an album with White Wizzard, but he will now," the band continues, revealing, "Very happy to announce that ex-Cellador singer and our former touring singer Mikey Dean Gremio will be recording and fronting the band on its next album."
In praise of Gremio, the statement adds, "He never ever flaked on a show, and always gave his all in every performance and always knew the words and was prepared. Looking like the midwestern offspring of Ripper Owens and an old school outlaw country singer, Mikey is a versatile vocalist with an incredible range and depth."
Looking to the future, White Wizzard said, "We are very excited to see the results of Jon's vocal melody writing and Ralph Patlan's vocal production on a full length album with Mikey singing."
Joining Gremio and Leon in the new lineup is guitarist James J. LaRue, who played on White Wizzard's 2018 record, Infernal Overdrive, guitarist Will Wallner, who played on the 2013 effort The Devils Cut, and drummer Devin Lebsack, who performed on the band's "Marathon of Dreams" 2014 single.
Leon already has an "arsenal" of new material written and a Kickstarter campaign will be announced to coincide with the album's launch.
"We plan to be very active on social media. We will be doing a special Kickstarter for the album, and plan to post several updates and will be very engaged with fans in the entire process," said White Wizzard, extending their thanks to the band's supporters when stating, "Those of you worldwide that have stuck with us-our gratitude is endless, and we hope to keep building the fanbase and look forward to the next chapter. More to come..."

Outstriders,
Throughout life you’re dealt different decks of cards. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to live my dream, which is writing music, putting out records and touring the world, playing to fans all over the globe. For the most part it has been a tremendous ride, but there’s also been moments where things have gone wrong. Most notably during the recent tour of South America, where we had to cancel shows in Argentina and Brazil.
It’s no secret that I’ve been battling addiction. I have now come to realize that it’s time to pick a fight with this demon. I’ve committed myself to a rehab program that’s going to help me get clean once and for all. I feel more motivated and determined than ever to win this battle.
Due to my program, we need to cancel the December shows that we have scheduled with my other band, Bömbers. We do apologize to our fans that was looking forward to these shows. We will make it up to all of you, and we’re currently working on rescheduling these shows.
Right now I’m very much looking forward to be coming back clean, stronger and more focused and fired up than ever.
Europe and USA, you have been warned, we’ll hunt you down like a thunderstorm next year. Nothing is going to stop us.
Horns up!

Dennis Ward hat geschrieben:Attention all Pink Cream 69 Fans!
It’s time that I make the official announcement of my departure from Pink Cream 69. I’ve had a wonderful time over the past 32 years meeting so many fans and making music with fantastic people. I want to thank all the guys, Alfred, Dave Uwe and Chris, for the years of fun and adventure. I hope that they continue to carry out the legacy of PC69 and I wish them many great concerts and musical experiences.
This departure is in no way a spontaneous decision. Many of you might have noticed that I have not performed with the band (other than a couple of shows) over the past few years. Fortunately Roman Beselt was able to step in for me often. I had been contemplating my departure for awhile now but have held on for no actual reason other than to not make any waves. My decision has nothing to do with my other activities; performing with Gus G, joining Magnum or my studio work as a producer/engineer. I have no hard feelings towards anyone in the band either, I just wasn’t enjoying the very few shows we’ve had the past few years and quite simply did not feel comfortable on stage anymore. I hope that will be reason enough for anyone curious.
So let’s all wish the guys a great future and please continue to support the band as much as possible! Take care :)

Dear fans,
2019 is coming to an end, so it’s a good time to take a look back before turning our gaze toward a new year. For us, 2019 was eventful, and a big part of that was playing our last COB gig in December.
We have received a lot of questions about what we’re going to do next and why we quit. Since this decision has sparked up a conversation and false rumors, we want to talk about why we ended up making it, one more time.
There is no argument behind the band’s name trademark or its use. We have a joint agreement. Alexi Laiho sold his share of the company and this meant that the three of us became owners of the COB brand. Although plans for our future are open, what is certain is that we will never do anything to disrespect this brand and the long career we’ve built together.
Also, we definitely want to set the record straight with the misconception that we quit because we have families or wanted to retire. Music is our profession and our lives, and all our families know that. They are proud of what we do, and they completely have our back. It should also go without saying that we as individuals are not retiring.
Success brings with it the responsibility to take a stand on decisions unrelated to music as well. These decisions were very difficult for us. We were five band members, each with their own roles, but we couldn’t find a shared viewpoint during these last few years.
The reason for writing this is not to point fingers but to clear things up. We are and always will be proud of what COB achieved together.
Happy holidays and best wishes for 2020!
Henkka, Janne and Jaska

Unfortunately I have to tell you that I have to leave SODOM. Due to some changes at my full-time job, as well as a few other matters, I do not see any chance of continuing to crush the skins for SODOM in the future. Erschütternde Diagnose
Ozzy Osbourne leidet an Parkinson
