Die Schweizer Band Messiah meldet sich heute mit einer traurigen Nachricht:
Ihr ehemaliger Sänger Andy Kaina ist gestorben. Er hatte eine Herzattacke und ist nicht mehr aus dem künstlichen Koma aufgewacht.
Andy Kaina wurde am 07.08.1969 geboren. Er gehörte zum zweiten Line-up von Messiah, das von 1990 bis 1994 bestand. In dieser Phase waren Messiah nicht mehr so extrem wie Mitte der 80er und wandten sich dem Death Metal zu.
Nach der EP "Psychomorphia" erschienen zwei Full Length-Scheiben ("Choir Of Horrors" und "Rotten Perish") – alle beim Label Noise. Nach einer weiteren Scheibe (ohne Andy) lösten sich Messiah ein weiteres Mal auf, existierten dann 2003 (mal kurz) und ab 2017 (bei der Reunion). Bis 2021 war Kaina der Frontmann, auch auf der letzten – also noch aktuellen – Veröffentlichung von 2020 ("Fractmont").

Dear MESSIAH fans & friends,
Unfortunately, today we have to bring you sad news and mourn the death of our friend ANDY KAINA.
Andy suffered a heart attack and never woke up from the artificial coma.
We are shocked and saddened and wish his family strength and all the best from the bottom of our hearts.
His legacy lives on in the music of Messiah and we consider ourselves lucky to have recorded great albums with him.
Andy, we will miss you!
