ich hoff das wird was interessantes...hmm...irgendwie ist es gerade in altes zeug neu zu verkaufen.

Englands Doom Metal-Lichtgestalten MY DYING BRIDE erfüllen sich anlässlich ihres 20. Bandgeburtstags einen Herzenswunsch und setzen einige Highlights ihres Backkatalogs in symphonischer Form um. Dafür hat man sich kompetente Unterstützung in Form von Keyboarder JOHNNY MAUDLING (BAL SAGOTH) gesichert, der an der Entstehung von "Evinta" maßgeblich beteiligt war. Neben neuen Arrangements und dem neuen Klangbild hat auch Sänger AARON STAINTHROPE einige seiner Passagen komplett überarbeitet. Die normale Doppel-CD und eine limitierte 3-CD-Edition samt Hardcover-Fotobuch erscheinen parallel am 22.10..

Bal Sagoth hatten kompositorisch einiges drauf. phasenweise haben sie großartigerweise sehr alte Filmmusik-Arrangements und ebensolche Kompositionen zustandegebracht. Von daher könnte das sehr cool sein.
Leider hatte die Band halt nicht die Kohle, das richtig gut zu machen. Es klang trotz ausuferndem Monumental-Wahnsinn billig nach Bontempi und etwas künstlich.
Bei diesem Projekt vermute ich, dass sowas nicht passieren wird.

klingt gut! ich hoffe also nicht auf ein 0815 re-recording mit ein paar keyboardstreichern sondern auf was künstlerisch wertvolles. dass es neue passagen und zusätzliche vocals geben wird finde ich schon mal gut.

To commemorate two decades of doom and gloom from My Dying Bride, the band embarked upon a special project to re-work familiar melodies and themes from their extensive catalogue into long, flowing symphonic compositions, incorporating new vocals and passages from Aaron Stainthorpe. Sharing vocals is professional opera singer Lucie Roche, a talented soprano from France.

These arrangements have been brought to life in co-operation with keyboard maestro Johnny Maudling (of Bal Sagoth fame) as well as a clutch of talented classical musicians and will be released on May 16th as 'Evinta', as a 2 disc set & also a deluxe 3-disc edition with 64 page book, inspired by My Dying Bride's illustrious recordings of the past two decades.

bei MDB isses ja grundsätzlich nix schlechtes, wenn sie ein bissl back to the roots gehen. das neue zeug is mir fast zu emosynthiepoppig... erinnert mich immer wieder an robbie plants 80er musikvergewaltigungsgeschichten mit ein bisschen härteren gitarren.

ich glaube schon dass die CDs halbwegs voll sein werden.

die special edition kostet auf peaceville 35 Pfund.

auf amazon gibts die doppel CD um 15,99 und anscheinend die 3-fach um 21,99 Euro???

bin mir nicht sicher ob die bei Amazon gelistete Version wirklich 3 CDs beihnhaltet obwohl es so dort steht.

beim angegebenen vertrieb steht nämlich 2CD limited edition!
