These are the first bands announced. We will be announcing 28 bands in total over the next couple of months, so keep updated here or on our website.

Background:
We are an association called "Undergrundsmusikens Fremme" (translated: Undergroundmusic promotion) based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The association has for the past two years been organizing the suucesful DIY Death Metal Festival "Kill-Town Death Fest" (http://www.killtowndeathfest.dk). Now new people and new ides has come to the association and therefore we decided to start a new initiative.

Were in the process of setting up a brand new music festival in May 2012 called "Heavy Days In Doomtown - a DIY celebration of all things slow and heavy", a festival which is gonna represent a wide spectrum of musical genres, such as doom, sludge, stonerrock, psych, heavyrock and more.

The festival is gonna last 4 days at 3 different venues in Copenhagen:
-a warmup show at the alternative venue Stengade, Stengade 18 (http://www.stengade.com)
-2 days of music, art, events and madness at the DIY activist driven social centre Ungdomshuset, Dortheavej 61 (http://www.dortheavej-61.com)
- a cooldown show in Copenhagens freetown Christianias finest rockclub Loppen (http://www.loppen.com)

The festival is organized DIY which means that neither the organizers, the bands, or the people who runs the fest are making profit, and our main purpose besides having an amazing fest full of heavy music, is to promote the DIY principles to the genres who usually don't organize this way.

This is done by showing that things can be done professionally and with passion for both good sounds, good treatment for bands and artists, good music, along with keeping it DIY and anti-commercial.

Besides music, were inviting a bunch of great artists to come and make installations, visuals and more before and during the festival to make the expeirence of the fest visual as well as musical.

Were still in the process of choosing and booking bands and putting together the details for the fest, so this is HEADS UP of whats coming, and to let you know that things are getting heavy in Copenhagen May 2012

Das klingt absolut genial, band- ort- und zeitmäßig

Nachdem der billigste Flug über 300 hin und retour kosten würde, wirds bei uns wohl der Zug werden (und ich mag die Fähre), irgendwie ist die ÖBB-Seite da aber sehr verwirrend, wenn ich Wien-Kopenhagen such, steht dann nur was bis Rostock. Also pilger ich einmal am Montag zum Westbahnhof und erkundig mich obs da vernünftige Sparschienepreise gibt, Zug würd um 8 am Abend in Wien wegfahren, Ankunft um 14 Uhr.

Unterkunftsmäßig schau ich einmal wegen Jugendherbergen, sonst gibts aber einen Campingplatz auf dem ich vor ein paar Jahren war, das dürft halt das billigste sein, aber schon ein Stück weg.

das buch ist von der cauchemar-sängerin und findest u.a. hier (auf der ersten seite relativ weit unten; man beachte auch die bandliste, also die bands, die menüs beigesteuert haben ):

Wow, das klingt absolut genial von der Idee und den Bands her, ich kann mir Blasphemy irgendwie nur sehr schwer kochend vorstellen . Da müsst noch ein Sampler mit den ganzen Bands dabei sein. Stiny Plamenu ist doch diese lustige tschechische Band die über Kanalsysteme singt, was für ein Rezept haben die beigesteuert?
