"Some time has passed since 2012's Heavy Days In Doomtown Festival and for those who have been wondering if there will be another, we would like to confirm that HDDT 2013 is definitely happening! We are back on track after a busy summer and fall and are happy to announce the 2nd edition of Heavy Days In Doomtown!
The dates will be 2nd - 5th May 2013. There will be a warm-up show Thursday May 2nd (Location will be announced later on). Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th May will be at Ungdomshuset, Dortheavej 61, 2450 Copenhagen NV. Bands and programme will be announced over the course of the next few months as bands and artists begin to be confirmed.
We have started the organizing and booking process, so therefore we'd like to invite bands and artists that would like to perform/exibit at HDDT 2013 to send us a request via email (NOT through Facebook please).
For artists write to us at heavydaysdoomtown.art (a) gmail.com. Please enclose a short description of your work, a link to a website or blog where your art is displayed and/or your ideas for projects for HDDT 2013.
For bands please send us a request to heavydaysdoomtown.booking (a) gmail.com. When you send us your request and a way to listen to your music, the preferred method is a link to streaming music online. A bandcamp link works best. We prefer not to receive MP3s sent directly or as download links. No Myspace. We will do our best to give all bands a listen and that may take a while. If you don´t hear back from us it means that we aren´t interested. We would like to give all bands a personal reply, but unfortunately we receive too many requests to keep up with all of them.
The artwork for HDDT 2013 will again be done by the amazing 13th Sign Collective from Berlin (http://13sign.blogspot.se/). They are currently working on creating a theme for next years posters and website. We have put up a temporary template on our website until the artwork is done.
Band announcements and newsupdates will be announced on www.heavydaysindoomtown.com and through our Facebook page(s).
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again in 2013!
// HDDT Crew"

"Presenting for the first time in Europe; GRAVES AT SEA (us)!!!
From the icey shores and the snowcovered plains of southern Scandiland, we scream from the top of our lungs of sheer excitement for a band we have been waiting for for years and years. We are extremely proud to be able to bring to you for the very first time on European soil, the mighty masters of blackened doomy slugde; GRAVES AT SEA!!!
Graves at Sea formed in 2002, originally hailing from Phoenix, AZ but now residing in Oakland, California, and Portland, Oregon. In 2007, the band decided to call it quits and they played their last show January 11th, 2008 at Slim’s in San Francisco. In 2012 they got back together again, with Chiyo (Noothgrush) and Greg (Brainoil) and recorded for a split with Loss. With another line up change, Graves at Sea is now a mostly Portland based band and will be working on new material.
“We are very pleased to announce our first time over seas to play HEAVY DAYS IN DOOMTOWN! The DIY festival captures exactly what Graves at Sea is all about. If it ain't heavy, it ain't shit, and DO IT YOUR FUCKING SELF. This fest is gonna crush. Cheers” - Graves at Sea
"With red eyes of fury and hearts painted black, we're back in Copenhagen (DK) , May 2013, for HEAVY DAYS IN DOOMTOWN.
"Let it be written, let it be done! We’re finally back in Denmark after, due to unfortunate events, having to cancel our last years appearance at HEAVY DAYS IN DOOMTOWN. Now its the right time, we’re currently mixing/mastering our new album “To Reap Heavens Apart”, which should be more than available for May 2013 festivities, making this performance something special as we’ll be throwing out new tunes and some doomster fave’s as well. Since we started playing as a 4 piece now, we got even heavier and we’ll make sure to crumble the venue down to ruins! Knowing how the festival worked last year (we crawled among the audience anyways), the effort of the people behind it and immense dark vibe all around, its gonna be something not to miss…inwards and downwards, towards the end!" - Procession"
"Presenting for the first time on the European continent; Meth Drinker (nz)!!!
The stream of “first time in Europe bands” will continue to flow today... We are extremely stoked to present to you from all the way around the globe, New Zealand´s finest upcoming sludge outfit; METH DRINKER!
Meth Drinker dwells in Wellington, New Zealand and have been playing raw, aggressive, disturbing Sludge since 2010 inspired by classic sludge bands from the 90's like Grief, Noothgrush, Corrupted, Iron Monkey, Eyehategod and Dystopia. They released a debut self-titled LP in 2011 and a split 12" with fellow New Zealand Sludge band Open Tomb in 2012. The self-titled 12" was re-released by Raw Birth Records in 2012. Meth Drinker have an upcoming 7" as well as split 12" with British band, Moloch which should be out by HDDT 2013. Keep an eye out for Meth Drinker shows throughout Europe in May 2013.
"From the arse-end of the world, we're probably the band traveling the furthest to play HDDT so prepare for some old-school, raw Sewage Sludge, Aotearoa-style." -Meth Drinker
"We are excited to bring to you the weedinflicted instrumental stoner doom of Polish BELZEBONG!! Hiding in a cloud of smoke, heavy-doomfuzz-metal Belzebong started in 2008 and since then they have brought you tons of evil weedian riffage. The band drowns themselves in a sea of distortion, fuzz and enough bottom-end to cure the worst case of constipation – in other words this music will make you shit. Their album “Sonic Scapes & Weedy Grooves” is a wicked trip down the hazy and introspective fuzziness associated with a massive blast to the lungs. The band already shared stages with Weedeater, Ufomammut, Blood Ceremony, Black Cobra, Saviours among others. This will be loud, so prepare yourself for the goat smokin’ blues of BELZEBONG!!
aaargh, wenn's nicht so kurz nachm Roadburn wäre, würd ich da gern hin.
vielleicht 2014 dann. Kopenhagen ist so eine geile stadt und das festival line-up ist auch immer erstklassig.
"We are happy to announce that Finlands very own psychedelic folk-rockers HEXVESSEL will perform at HDDT II!! Hexvessel will be one of the acts that will stick a bit out of the HDDT programme, since this band isn´t rooted in metal, but in folk and psychedelia. None the less we feel that their music and concept represents the spirit and ideas that HDDT wanna present and therefor we welcome the extraordinary HEXVESSEL!
Hexvessel was founded by Englishman Mat McNerney after he moved to Helsinki in 2009. Fusing late 60s and early 70s English folk/psych with Finnish nature mysticism, they play a witches brew of heavy, tripped-out atmospherics and hypnotic paeans. Their debut album Dawnbearer, which is now considered an occult folk classic, garnered rave reviews from the media and fans alike, making it to the top of many people's Best of 2011 lists.
The band have grown into a respected live act, playing many shows at home and abroad including a showc
ase gig at the well-renowned Roadburn Festival in Holland, festival shows at a fortress in the heart of Transylvania, Lithuanian Devilstone Festival and club shows in Budapest, Hungary. They have toured Finland twice, once supporting the renowned Icelandic band Solstafir and later on their own sold-out headline tour. Now the band have been invited to play SXSW in Texas USA 2013 and following that will embark on a European tour with fellow label cohorts Sabbath Assembly. 2013 looks to be a busy time for the group, including repressings of both albums and an EP release.
As Ondarock, online music magazine from Italy put it, Hexvessel are "the rising stars of psychedelic folk in Europe."
"Today we bring to you a young upcoming Swedish act that has cought our attention the last year or so with their critically acclaimed debut album "Äppelträdet". We are happy to bring to you from Norrköping for the first time outside Sweden the fuzzmonster know as SKRAECKOEDLAN!
Inspired by bands like Kyuss, The Sword, Mastodon and Dozer, the fuzzmetal quartet Skraeckoedlan plays groovy stonerrock with a touch of doom. In 2011 they signed with Transubstans Records (Abramis brama, Graveyard) and released their debutalbum produced and recorded by Oskar Cedermalm (Truckfighters). Their second album "Gigantos" is set to be released sometime in the beginning of 2013. With a brand new album and over 100 live shows, Skraeckoedlan enters the stage at Heavy days in doom town for their first gig in Denmark.
"Skraeckoedlan really look forward to playing what looks to be their first ever gig outside Sweden. We really support the DIY scene and we're truly hon
ored to be able to take part in this awesome festival" - Skraeckoedlan
