wir haben uns schon wieder tickets für die Copenhagen Beer Celebration gesichert. wäre ja optimal, wenn das beides wieder zusammen fallen würde am ersten WE im mai.
The time has come! Some of you might have wondered if there will be another edition of Heavy Days In Doomtown, since our sister festival KTDF sadly had its funeral edition this year… There will be! Heavy Days In Doomtown IIII will happen again in 2015! Sadly we will have to announce that this will also be the last edition of HDDT which we are calling The “Doomsday celebration”. The cycle of the 4 elements will be concluded with this 4th edition under the theme of AIR.
There are many reasons for why HDDT is calling it quits, but we wanna focus on what we have achieved over the years as a 100% volunteer run collective, starting off with nothing but good ideas and the best of intentions, bringing this festival up to the level of most of its peer festival around Europe. We are proud off what this festival has become and we are excited to bring you this final edition of HDDT with great bands, great artists and the most dedicated and sincere crowd! The fire is still burning for HDDT and it is never ending - all because of the support and energy that is brought to HDDT every year! The energy we receive from bands, artists, volunteers, and of course everyone traveling from near and far to celebrate this with us makes it possible for us to do it again one last time!
The “Doomsday celebration” will go on for 4 days taking place from the 30st of April to the 3rd of May 2015. Expect something out of the ordinary!
The festival will open with a warm-up show that will take place on Thursday April 30th at Loppen in Christiania with 3 bands plus an art vernisage at “Gallopperiet” upstairs. Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd May the main event will take place at Ungdomshuset, Dortheavej 61, 2450 Copenhagen NV. Bands and artists will be announced from December 1st and onwards until the festival is fully booked. Unfortunately we wont be able to do the “x-mas” calendar that we have done the previous years with an announcement a day, but we will announce the bands as they get confirmed istead. Presale will start January 1st at 12pm through www.billetto.dk. Tickets are limited – especially for the warm up show, so be sure to secure your ticket early on.
We have started the organizing and booking process, so therefore we’d like to invite bands and artists that would like to perform/exhibit at HDDT 2015 to send us a request via email (NOT through Facebook please).
Artists can write to us at heavydaysdoomtown.art (a) gmail.com. Please enclose a short description of your work, a link to a website or blog where your art is displayed and/or your ideas for projects at HDDT 2014.
Bands can send us a request to heavydaysdoomtown.booking (a) gmail.com. When you send us your request and a way to listen to your music, the preferred method is a link to streaming music online. A bandcamp link works best. We prefer not to receive MP3s sent directly or as download links. No Myspace. We will do our best to give all bands a listen and that may take a while. If you don´t hear back from us it means that we aren´t interested. We would like to give all bands a personal reply, but unfortunately we receive too many requests to keep up with all of them.
The artwork for HDDT 2015 is once again done by the amazing 13th Sign Collective from Berlin! As some of the bright minds out there might have noticed, the previous year’s themes has been earth, fire and water. For HDDT IIII, 2015 will be the year of AIR and the artwork has been inspired by old myths and stories which are connected with the air theme and the mighty forces of this element. The air theme will be the final in the series of the “four elements of the world” and will conclude the cycle that was known as Heavy Days In Doomtown.
