We are psyched to slowly reveal the lineup for the upcoming Crystal Mountain Festival 2019, and oh so delighted to start off by introducing a real heavy hitter: Please bid welcome to Naxatras!!!!
Ever since the release of their self titled debut LP in 2015, the Northern-Greece-based hard psychedelic rock band Naxatras has been one of those names that you simply cannot escape in today's Stoner Rock- scene, especially if you have developed a taste for the more experimental, psychedelic and jam-influenced side of Stoner Rock.
Naxatras is as pure, honest and raw as modern Rock-music can get; they represent sheer skilled musicality without any digital shenanigans. While they undeniably take inspiration from big 70's Rock classics in their bluesy and fuzz-ridden heavy riffs as well as in their psychedelic and mellow melodies, they do not shy away from other musical ideas by incorporating jazzy rythms and funky guitar-voicings into some of their songs. It is this kind of exerpimentation and boundary-crossing that makes Naxatras truly great and unique, as their music doesn't seem to be confined by any rules and takes the listener on a captivating and cathartic psychedelic journey... one that you have to experience for yourself to appreciate the beauty of all its twists and turns.

Now let's be honest here: We had a bunch of awesome bands back in 2018. And sometimes a band is just too good not to be invited back. That's why it is our honour to present our friends from Deadsmoke as part of the Crystal Mountain 2019 Lineup!
Deadsmoke is an Italian doom sludge band that sounds like amplifiers buried in the deep, with down-tuned monolithic guitar riffs scraping the soil down to the core of the earth.
Slow, hypnotic, dissonant cadences recall the eternal need for isolation and the atavistic fear of nothingness. Sub-frequencies corrode the one last trace of human cognition, apprehension and judgment.
Your soul is already burned, smoke is what remains!

I'm a simple man when it comes to music: give me a heavy bluesy riff, make it as dirty and fuzzy as possible, and keep the groove banging. Now that might be easier said than done, but these guys surely know how to do it right: Join us as we welcome The Heavy Minds to Crystal Mountain 2019!
The Heavy Minds are a Heavy-Garage-Psych Band from Austria that released their first full lenght LP "Treasure Coast" back in 2015. Since then they have been sharing stages with big names such as Radio Moscow, Earthless, Dead Meadow and many more.
The Heavy Minds will release their upcoming second album in early summer 2019, and we are stoked to hear some of those new songs live at the Crystal Mountain 2019.
Oh, and did I mention that their live-shows crush? Well, they do, but I guess you have to check that out yourselves...

SACRI MONTI (w/ members of Radio Moscow and Joy) from San Diego - California is influenced by early 70s hard rock, krautrock, psychedelic and progressive rock.

These guys have been making a name for themselves in the last years by playing one awesome gig after another, so it didn't come as a surprise that this band has been requested by so many of you. Now we are happy to deliver - but then again: we would have invited them anyway, because what good is a music festival in South Tyrol without one of the best bands from South Tyrol?

Junk Love is a band from South Tyrol that has been around since 2012. Back then their music could have been described as post-grunge or progressive-punk. While their live shows today are still as good - if not better - as back then, musically they have evolved into a somewhat more sophisticated form of Rock, incorporating psychedelic, melodic and more progressive musical ideas, which they themselves describe as "Dream Punk".
Junk Love is the cold sun that lies over the shadow of our oppressed youth. Black rythms accompany the stamping of a lost generation.
No gods.
No leaders.
Just love for something we can't grab.

High up in the Swiss mountains among cows, piles of cheese and Swiss Army Knife factories live some even higher people. Four of them got together to drown out the monotonous, ever ringing cowbells by some heavier tunes.
Suffice to say, we think that they will feel right at home amidst our South Tyrolean mountains. It is our pleassure to announce Son Cesano as part of the Crystal Mountain Lineup.
Son Cesano started in 2015 with extensive jam sessions that slowly assumed a more structured shape, leading to their debut album "Submerge". The album was recorded live in the legendary „Foolpark“ record studio in Lucerne, and was released in December 2018. Their music, being performed purely instumental, is heavy, fuzzy and spacey - just like good Stoner Rock should be!

++ Son Cesano - 36070 (Live) ++
I don't know about all of you, but I have been getting some serious summer-vibes those last few days. Now that may have something to do with the lovely weather around here, or maybe it's this new album ("Eclipse") I've been listening a lot lately. Anyway, I am happy to announce that the band who made said album will be joining us live on stage at Crystal Mountain. Welcome The Sonic Dawn.
The Sonic Dawn is a band from Copenhagen (Denmark) that is known for their eclectic psychedelic style and prolific touring of the European continent. Since their formation in 2013, they have released three LPs (two of them released on the famous Heavy Psych Sounds- record label), the latest of which called "Eclipse" was released just a month ago.
The opening track to their new album is called "Forever 1969", which pretty much sums up what their musical mindset is all about. The Sonic Dawn is reminiscent of those late 60's classic rock and psychedelic bands, while simultaneously incorporating modern hard rock-riffs and jazzy progressive elements into their music. So describing The Sonic Dawn as "retro-rock" would do them injustice, as their music isn't just nostalgia for the '69 era of Rock, but essentially a revival of the spirit of '69 and its musical recontextualisation in modern Rock.
Or as they themselves put it:
"You like to think we're left behind.
But really, man, we're ahead of our time.
Because '69 is another state of mind."

We are very proud of our international lineup this year, but as stated before: it would be a shame if we didn't use our stage to present some of the best local bands that South Tyrol has to offer. Hence we are happy to announce a true gem of our local music scene: Please bid welcome to Meddycrayed!
Meddycrayed is a band that has been around for 20 years. Throughout those years they have been fundamental to the South Tyrolean Rock-scene, and have been an inspiration for tons of musicians. Even though Meddycrayed are one of the most influental and consistently good live bands around here, they still managed to pretty much stay an underground band, playing small local venues and keeping out of the limelight. It almost seems as if they value their love for music over fame - a rare trait those days...
Their music can be categorized somewhere between 90's style Grunge and Punk, as a perfect symbiosis between melodic beauty and distorted heavyness - perfectly kept in balance through ingeniously written songs that are equally simplistic as they are emotionally deep.
It may sound chliché, but listening to Meddycrayed truly is a melancholic and emotional experience, especially if you see them live on stage. So do not miss out on your chance to see Meddycrayed live at the Crystal Mountain Festival!

In the lifelong quest for the perfect sound, four musicians from Hamburg, Stockholm, Graz and Linz met in Austria 2013. In the glow of lava lamps, they started wandering in new spheres, in search for their own special blend of psychedelic, stoner, the Beatles and Ludwig van. Please welcome High Brian.
High Brian released their first album "High brain" in 2016 on Stonefree Records and immediately put themselves on on the Stoner-Rock-landscape. After sharing the stage with likeminded bands such as The Vintage Caravan, Kadavar, The Flying Eyes, Vidunder and many more, they will release their second album "Brian Air" in March of 2019 - an album full of partly heavy, partly trippy and partly labyrinthine songs.
We are glad to hear that High Brian are heading to land at the Crystal Mountain Festival, but be careful as they warn you:
"Brian Air - not the safer, but the higher way to fly"
These guys came down to planet earth to blow peoples brains off with their severe Spacerock tunes and send them into far out territories. Join us in welcoming The Spacelords!
The Spacelords have been around since 2008. Their unique take on Spacerock, which incorporates elements of Stoner- and Krautrock, takes the listener on an intense psychedelic journey throughout big soundscapes, held together by tight grooves and melodic guitar parts.
Just a month ago they released another live-album called "On Stage", which once again proved that this band truly shines live on stage. Rest assured, The Spacelords will blow your mind at the Crystal Mountain Festival.
Hailing from the basement of the Alps, these guys play groovy Garage-Rock with a twist of Blues and the Californian Desert in their hearts. Start the engines, turn up the volume and get ready to fly with the Space Cadets.
The Space Cadets are a 5-piece Alternative- Rock Band with influences of Garage and Psychedelic Rock. Each song is the product of endless jam sessions, which gives them their well-known dreamy and space-like character. After a long musical journey, different sounds, influences and music genres have merged into the Alternative Psychedelic sound of the Space Cadets.
