The band name tells the story. Raw, powerful and uncompromising Thrash Metal with thundering, artillery-like riffs and energetic choruses that leave you no choice but to mosh and bang your head. Founded in 2009, these 5 maniacs released their first demo “Here Comes The Tank” in 2011, followed by their EP “Unleash The Hounds Of War” in 2013. Countless shows at home and abroad followed, culminating in the release of their first full-length record “For The Loud And The Aggressive” in 2014. Since then, the Viennese band MORTAL STRIKE strives to convince even more with furious, tight and unforgiving live performances all over Europe and soon KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020 will also be run over by the neon-green tank.

The Power Thrash Metal band KLYNT from Graz, Austria combines epic hymns with a raw and primal sound. Nordjevel @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

In the unholy year 2015, the Norwegian black metal band NORDJEVEL was founded by mastermind Doedsadmiral. Soon after, the first official line-up was completed by Widigs (ex-Marduk), DzeptiCunt (ex-Ragnarok) and Nord. The self-titled debut album was released in January 2016 and well-received by both fans and press. In March 2017, the EP "Krigsmakt" was exclusively released on vinyl. Despite the first successes, Nord and Widigs left the band and were replaced by Destructhor (ex-Morbid Angel) and Dominator (ex-Dark Funeral) in 2018. With the release of the sophomore album "Necrogenesis" in March 2019 and after several tours, NORDJEVEL became an unstoppable force which is now heading towards KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020.

EREBOS @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

The Styrian band EREBOS was formed in 2002. Soon after, these maniacs released their first demo “Crucifixion Made In Austria” in spring 2003. After receiving overwhelming reviews, the debut album “The Chaos Chronicle” was recorded and finally released in 2004. Their straight forward but also melodic Death Metal made them a high-class trademark in the Austrian underground scene. The sophomore album “Descent To Beyond” was released in 2006 and several club and festival shows followed. Despite this great beginning, the band lapsed into a deep sleep and it took them about 13 years to come up with their third full-length album “The Heretic”. Actually, it was worth waiting and EREBOS pick up where they left off. Again, they deliver an old school Death Metal assault at its best. Be prepared for their return to KALTENBACH OPEN AIR in 2020.

The Church Of Pornthegore @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

From Porngrind to Goregrind. There are tons of bands that are much easier to describe than PORNTHEGORE from Buzău, Romania. Intense porno sucky fucky spiritual philosophical music is the label that was chosen by the band themselves. These sickos definitely break out of every pigeonholing and instead combine the best aspects of several genres to create their own sound. Mantra-Kamasutra-drumming lays the foundation for hypnotical porn soundtracks created by a magnificent 6-string. Finally, their sonic orgasms are accentuated with deepthroat sound samples and splattered by a pulsating bass. The conjuring and mourning of two vocalists guide through the darkest abysses of a gloryhole, the world of PORNTHEGORE. Founded in 1996, the Polish Death Metal act DECAPITATED looks back on an impressive career forged by releasing several masterpieces of extreme art and playing countless live shows worldwide. Armed with weapons like “Nihility”, “The Negation” or “Carnival Is Forever”, DECAPITATED became one of the biggest names of contemporary Death Metal scene. Defending their place among the gods, their latest output “Anticult” just highlights how vital DECAPITATED have remained throughout the last two decades. They still are undeniable masters of their craft and “Anticult” elevated the band's reputation far beyond the realm of Extreme Metal. Stormrage @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

Founded in 2013, STORMRAGE from Salzburg define their sound by catchy guitar riffs, driving basslines, precise drums and devilish vocals. On their debut album “Humanimal” (2018), the Melodic Death Metal band thematises apocalypse in terms of nature taking revenge on mankind. Cyrox @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

Initially, the band was founded under the banner of BLACK VOID in Leoben, Austria in 2016. After the completion of the billing, the band name was finally changed into CYROX and soon after the first live shows were successfully completed. Their sonic bastard is a fierce mixture of Thrash and Death Metal without being limited to a specific genre and combining different influences from Hard Rock to Black Metal. Currently, the five-piece is working on its first full-length album which should be ready for release right before KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020.

SKULL CRUSHER @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

Soon after their foundation in 1990, SKULL CRUSHER became one of the most important Death Metal acts from Austria by releasing three outstanding demos named “Skull Crusher” (1992), “Merciless Destiny” (1993), “Deathmatch” (1994) and supporting legendary bands like Napalm Death, Massacre and Tiamat. Finally, the first full-length album THE DARKSIDE OF HUMANITY was released in 1996. Countless gigs followed and in 1998 the band got signed by NSM Records. In 2000, the sophomore album TORMENTED was released, containing technical high standard Death Metal in the vein of the famous Florida Death Metal acts. Nonetheless, SKULL CRUSHER split up and it took them about twenty years to celebrate their well-received resurrection in 2018. Now it is your turn to get your skull crushed at KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020.

Desaster @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

DESASTER’s history goes back to the year 1988 when two Metal-possessed maniacs started to follow the path of bands like VENOM, HELLHAMMER or DESTRUCTION, whose song „Total Desaster“ was the eponym for the band’s name. Back then, their only intention was to pay homage to the gods of pure fucking Black Metal without compromises. After playing the first live show in 1989, DESASTER faced serious line-up problems before Infernal, the one and only remaining original member, found the right warriors to continue. After releasing of the first two demos “The Fog Of Avalon” (1993) and “Lost In The Ages” (1994), Merciless Records released a split-7” with UNGOD in 1995, the band´s vinyl-debut. In 1996, the first full-length album “A Touch Of Medieval Darkness” was finally unleashed and critically acclaimed. The sophomore album “Hellfire’s Dominion” (1998) followed soon after and included the neck-breaking Metal hymn “Metalized Blood”. The follow-up albums “Tyrants Of The Netherworld” (2000), “Divine Blasphemies” (2002) and “Angelwhore” (2005) just proved the band’s reputation of being the new big deal in terms of thrash-like Black Metal. Their sixth studio album “666 - Satan’s Soldiers Syndicate” (2007) again showed the band´s typical thrashing black metal riffing without any space for innovations or modern elements. Uncompromisingly, the band continued their path on “The Arts of Destruction” (2012) and “The Oath of an Iron Ritual” (2016). Their latest single “Black Celebration” (2019) is nothing but another total Metal attack in the name of Satan. Be prepared for sharp riffs, pounding drums, roaring bass and screaming hell at KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020.

Hideous Divinity @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

The band's triumph started back in 2007 when ex-members of HOUR OF PENANCE and EYECONOCLAST came up with a new straight-in-your-face Death Metal project named HIDEOUS DIVINITY. Soon after, the band released their first demo "Sinful Star Necrolatry" including two tracks written and arranged by Enrico Schettino and recorded at the 16th Cellar Studios. Despite the first successes a period of silence followed and it was not until 2012, the first full-length album “Obeisance Rising”, a concept album based on John Carpenter's masterpiece "They Live", was released via UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS. Two albums named “Cobra Verde” (2014) and “Adveniens” (2017) followed and recently, HIDEOUS DIVINITY signed with the major label CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS who are going to release their upcoming full-length album “Simulacrum” on 8 November 2019. Be prepared for another brutal Death Metal attack on KALTENBACH OPEN AIR 2020.

Founded in 2014, the Upper Austrian outfit SARCASTIC TERROR already released two underground masterpieces named “Psychotic Animosity” (2016) and “Rotten Tournament” (2017). SIN EATER is a modern Deathcore formation from Graz, Austria. The band delivers a dark atmospheric ambience combined with crushing breakdowns on 8-string guitars and black metal influences. Their first EP “Impurity” (2017) already marked their first milestone but big plans are ahead. Their latest single „Deathbound“ (2019) was another important step forward and is an epiphany in terms of brutality. Nargaroth @ Kaltenbach Open Air 2020 (15th anniversary)

With the official founding of the band in 1996, NARGAROTH marked the beginning of their uncompromising crusade of provocative and relentless Black Metal. The eerie atmosphere, which delivers an impression of ancient and grim nature, and the profound lyrics, expressing the struggle and melancholy of being human, accompanied NARGAROTH and bandleader Ash ever since the very beginning. The unambiguous statement "Black Metal ist Krieg", the title of the second full-length album, not only praised the cult of unbendable Black Metal but also paid tribute to the classic Black Metal scene of the early 90s. With the following releases, NARGAROTH delivered diverse masterpieces of the black arts and retained the reputation of being one of the most renowned Black Metal acts of today.
