NASTY SAVAGE Drummer CURTIS BEESON verstorben

Nach übereinstimmenden Posts seiner ehemaligen NASTY SAVAGE Bandmitglieder Ben Myer, „Nasty Ronnie“ (Ron Galetti) und David Austin ist ihr langjähriger Drummer CURTIS BEESON im Alter von 61 Jahren gestern verstorben.

Zwar wird keine Todesursache angegeben, doch scheint sein bereits 2021 festgestellter Hirntumor als wahrscheinlichster Grund. NASYT SAVAGE und Curtis gelten bis heute zu den Wegbereitern der Florida Thrash und Death Metal Szene. NASTY SAVAGE starten mit stark verändertem Line-Up gerade gerade ihr Comeback mit “ Jeopardy Room“, der ersten Scheibe in 20 Jahren.


Ben Myer postet:
„R.I.P. Curtis Beeson, you were an inspiration to many drummers. An awesome guy who wasn’t afraid to say your thoughts. My heart goes out to the Beeson family. I’m so sorry. Deepest condolences to every one that was part of his life. Curtis will be missed dearly.“


David Austin schreibt:
“R.I.P. Curtis You are loved and will be missed,

Just crushed about this and now you will rest, my condolences to the entire Beeson family on this very very sad day, love you guys with all my heart and soul,”

There’s only a certain number of people in life that you consider to be a close friend and fewer who is important enough to be considered a brother and even fewer that you call a hero.
The music world lost one of the originals….an inovader of double bass drumming from the early days of the Florida Metal Music Scene. Curtis Beeson was one of the main reasons Obituary became a band and why we wanted to play HeavyMetal and his drumming was a huge influence on me and so many other drummers in central Florida in the 80’s and 90’s.
We became and remained friends for over 3 decades and will always cherish those time we spent together on and off stage. You were an animal behind the drumkit and an angel in life and we all are devastated. You will be missed but you will also never be forgotten. You will remain in our minds and in our hearts and your music will live on forever. Life dealt you a tuff hand and your fighting spirit was incredible and taught us all to never give up and continue to live life while you can.
