Our Hails and howls go out to Mr.Peter Hobbs who passed away today. A great influence on the band and Australian underground metal in general.

...One of the first covers I learned to play way back in the day.

Our first bassist Phil Bullet Eater come from Hobbs original lineup. Many years later I had the good fortune to release the Hobbs demo on vinyl, later still organise a show together with Hobbs ,Destroyer, Assaulter and Vomitor in London.

Its hard to understate the impact Hobbsy album had on us kids, for years we listened to the German greats export their evil tunes with killer covers and it all had the effect of making it seem otherworldly, then comes along Hobbs first album and suddenly it became something we could do here in Oz. Bear in mind,they recorded at the same studio with the same engineer and used the same cover artist as the german greats of the time. It was a game-changer alright.And damn ,what an album! Like all the thrash gems of that era,it hasn't aged and sounds as killer now as it did then.

Hobbsy was certainly a one of a kind character who burned the black mass candle at both ends for longer than most could,or even should have done.

Reign in Hell Hobbsy.
