mein horizont ist nicht auf wien beschränkt, aber auf die arena-variante wirds wohl hinaus laufen... hoffentlich.
oT: obwohl ich kürzlich in linz festgestellt habe, dass in der stadtwerkstatt und im ann and pat auch oft ganz coole veranstaltungen wären, was ich leider viel zu wenig mit bekomme.

hmm, wenn auf der tour Blood Ceremony auch noch dabei wären, gäbe es ja schon ein datum für die arena...

ja, dem ann&pat versuch ich eh seit jahren bei jedem zweiten gig von uns die eine oder andere band unterzuschieben, aber leider ohne erfolg
die stadtwerkstatt hat ja überhaupt in dem kulturhauptstadtjahr relativ viele coole sachen gmacht, aber hingschafft hab ichs trotzdem nie.

also the 11th hour sind live gewaltig. der ed warby hat da ein paar starke songs gschrieben, auch wenn ich seine stimme auf cd eher mäßig finde. aber live singt ja der pim blankenstein die growl vocals, einfach nur grandios. wie an anderer stelle schon erwähnt waren die am letzten doom shall rise festival am ersten tag für mich die mit abstand stärkste band, und as heißt was
das zweite album is eh in arbeit, bin schon gespannt was da dabei rausschaut. hab ihnen neulich am hammer of doom empfohlen den pim auch am album singen zu lassen
is eh schon seit monaten bekannt, dass sie sich auflösen.

CATHEDRAL ANNOUNCE FINAL SHOW.
As announced earlier this year, 2011 will be the final year of underground UK metal mainstays Cathedral as a live band. Having recently reunited with former bassist Scott Carlson (Repulsion/Death Breath), they’ve just returned from a triumphant farewell trip to Japan and are scheduled to headline Maryland Deathfest as well as short tours of Brazil, Greece and several other festival appearances in C...zech, Finland and Germany. ***Last minute plans are also in the pipeline for Australia and Chile, please check for updates.
The band is now in a position to announce their last EVER live appearance at London’s The Forum in Kentish Town on Saturday 3rd December 2011. Sharing the bill will be very special guests and friends of the band; Grand Magus, Comus and Gentleman’s Pistols.
When asked at the possibility of a future reunion, vocalist Lee Dorrian stated, “well we’ve been doing this for over twenty-one years now and I think it’s a bit of a cop out when bands get back together. I never-say-never, but I honestly can’t see it ever happening. The music means more to us than that and it’s not as though people haven’t had enough chances to see us over the years. I would say it’s very unlikely.”
Since forming in 1990 the band have released nine studio albums and several EP's. A large part of their career was spent recording for Earache Records, debuting with the landmark 1991 Doom Metal classic Forest of Equilibrium. This was followed by the seminal 1993 Ethereal Mirror album, which was released by Columbia records in America to large critical acclaim.
More recently Cathedral continued to expand on their overall sound, releasing two albums for the Nuclear Blast label. Dorrian continues; "Our latest album The Guessing Game is exactly where we wanted to be after all this time. Staying in one place, being repetitive and predictable is something we wanted to avoid right from the off." He adds; “When we first formed Cathedral, we were playing the most unfashionable form of metal that was around. You could almost say the same today, despite the fact that we sound quite a bit different now. With this in mind, it’s amazing that we managed to maintain our status, whilst many trends and bands have since come and gone”.
Cathedral’s uncompromising individual style has gained them a large cult-following around the world. They recently reunited with the original line-up for their twentieth anniversary concert to perform the aforementioned Forest of Equilibrium debut in its entirety. This event was recorded, as well as a main set, containing a plethora of favourites spanning their illustrious career. The fruits of this recording will be released as their first official live album later in the year as a CD and vinyl boxset simply titled Anniversary.
Before bowing out altogether, the band will record one final studio album in 2012 to be titled The Last Spire. Following its recording the band will be over for good and there will be no shows to back it up. Dorrian concludes; "It's just time to move on and leave our recorded legacy to linger. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to those special people who have supported Cathedral over the years. It may sound like a cliché but it's certainly true - we simply wouldn't have been able to do it without you, thanks!"

“Regrettably, Cathedral will be withdrawing from their planned appearance at this year's Hammer of Doom festival. This is due to the use of animal blood as part of the stage show of one of the other bands on the bill. We do not condone nor endorse this type of activity, and in fact we are very much opposed to it. We would like to apologise sincerely to any of our fans who were expecting to see us at Hammer of Doom, but we feel very strongly about this issue and therefore felt we had no alternative but to withdraw”"

Wenn The Devil's Blood Tiere auf den Bühnen Schlachten würden oder dergleichen dann würde ich es ja noch verstehen wenn Mensch darauf negativ reagieren aber das Blut was The Devil's Blood benutzen holen sie vom Schlachter aus ihrer Heimat, wie Selim in einem Interview erwähnte. Da könnten Cathedral auch gleich Absagen mit der Begründung der Imbisstand tut Salami auf seine Pizza. Ieh ekelig !
