We are going to close the chapter REANIMA, and lay the band to rest.
Be assured that this was not an easy decision at all - we can’t even start to describe how the last years have been, because terms like “amazing” or “awesome” are so overused nowadays, that none of them would do justice to the times we had. For me personally, the last 4 years have been the best of my life so far.
But it feels like it’s the right thing to do right now.
First of all - and this is a tough thing to admit – we cannot “top” our last record, at least not at this point. We set ourselves a very high standard of how a new reanima record would have to sound, but the stuff we’ve been working on in the past few months is too different from our previous material, “forcing” it into reanima-material is no option for us. We also have no desire to just re-write Great Whore Of Babylon. There are millions of bands out there, copying the songs of their prime, just to stay “alive” – and this is not something we want to become. We always wanted to resign PROUD, and not as an embarrassing copy of ourselves. We have reached everything we wanted to. To get “more” or “bigger”, we would either have to prostitute ourselves completely or have to throw money we don’t have at people we don’t like, so this is out of question, fuck this shit.
So don’t get us wrong – we still LOVE being this band, and well, nothing is forever – so if we should somewhere in the future feel the need to get back as “reanima”, we will. Although at this point, this is not on our schedule.
BUT – as especially musicians will understand: one does not simply “quit” music... so OF COURSE most of us WILL STAY TOGETHER and keep making music! We just need a fresh, clean start - watch this space for future announcements about our follow up band(s)!

(Oh, and there is this rumor floating around that there will be one short loud “extra” later this year…those of you who know us personally probably can figure it out easily…because some bands are just meant to play together…again.)
