Eigentlich nur auf das Release gestoßen, weil Jason von Eternal Champion das vorhin gepostet hat:
Eternal Champion hat geschrieben:Though we have never met, I have felt a kinship and deep admiration for Wrathblade since I discovered their first single 7" and 2011 Demo CD "Reins of Doom". They are a completely singular band, a unique and extremely powerful force in our proudly sequestered world of Epic Heavy Metal.
Each member of Wrathblade is a skillful player but beyond that, each of them offers something really special and the more I listen to their records the more I hear each instrument doing something I hadn't noticed before. "Into the Netherworld's Realm" has stayed near my record player since it came out 5 years ago and I wasn't sure if they, or any newer band in our current age could surpass it. Within one full listen of "God of the Deep Unleashed" I knew I was hearing an instant, steel-solid classic that was at least an equal to their debut LP, and after a few more listens I knew they bested themselves. Nick Varsamis, with his Gregorian/Byzantine vocal quality and ability to switch effortlessly between the majestic and the aggressive, is a barbarian poet, his lyrics must be paid attention to if you're going to grasp just how epic this band is.
"God of the Deep Unleashed" will be released next week and I urge all of you to pre-order the CD from EAT METAL RECORDS or purchase the digital version from the band's bandcamp link below. Far and away my record of the year and an album I will cherish until the God of the Deep himself comes to take me..
